Hi everyone!

We are Moms on Mission (MoM)- Ten enthusiastic moms from NJ, setting out on the adventure of a lifetime. After spending years taking care of our families, homes, and work, we decided to embark on a mission to challenge ourselves in an unprecedented way. We’ll be facing our fears for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. This Spring 2025, as we take on the Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu, we are dedicating our journey to Hike for Mike.

Why Mike?

Mike Nichols was just a high schooler, full of dreams, when a tragic spinal cord injury changed his life forever. One moment he was playing hockey, and in an instant everything was different. He was airlifted, spent four months on a ventilator, and even suffered a stroke. Yet, through it all, Mike has shown nothing but resilience, courage, and an unbreakable spirit. Today, he is wheelchair-bound, but he hasn’t let that stop him. After more than a decade of working with organizations supporting spinal cord injuries, he founded The Mike Nichols Foundation—an organization dedicated to helping individuals with spinal cord injuries afford medical care, rehabilitation, assistive technology, and essential support that insurance often doesn’t cover.

Why This Mission Matters

As mothers, we can only imagine the pain that Mike’s parents went through. He was just a high school student, almost the same age as some of our kids are now, even younger, making his story feel even more personal to us.

Through this hike, we aim to not just challenge ourselves physically but also make a meaningful impact by raising funds for the Mike Nichols Foundation. Every donation will go toward helping individuals with spinal injuries receive the care and support they deserve. This journey is about more than just reaching Machu Picchu—it’s about lifting those who need it most. Every step we take is for Mike and many others like him. We invite you to stand with us and support this cause.

Let’s push boundaries and break barriers; together, we can make this journey count
