Team 23 for Mikey: Summiting for a Cause
On August 4, 2025, Team 23 for Mikey successfully completed their most challenging effort to date by carrying a Mikey Nichols Foundation flag to the summit of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous United States.
This achievement marked the culmination of the 23 for Mikey journey, a four-year effort inspired by Mikey’s resilience and fighting spirit. The 23-mile round-trip hike with over 6,000 feet of elevation gain stood as both a physical and symbolic milestone, representing the strength, unity, and purpose behind the mission.

Moms on Mission: Hiking for Mike
In Spring 2025, Moms on Mission, a group of ten determined moms from New Jersey, completed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in support of Hike for Mike and the Mike Nichols Foundation.
Through their journey, they raised both awareness and vital funds to help individuals living with spinal cord injuries access rehabilitation, assistive tools, and essential support services that are often not covered by insurance.
Mike’s story, that of a high school hockey player whose life changed in an instant, continues to inspire action, compassion, and commitment across our community. Every step taken on this hike carried that message forward.
