Team 23 for Mikey fundraising page
In 2021, inspired by Mikey’s unwavering fighting spirit, we started 23 for Mikey, a fundraising effort to benefit Mikey by completing 23 long-distance ventures. In the last four years, we have pushed to see what’s possible to accomplish in a day from sunrise to sunset, with challenges ranging from hiking across the Grand Canyon to surfing for 12 straight hours in Belmar, NJ.
On August 4th, 2025, we hope to fly a Mike Nichols Foundation flag at the highest point in the country. We’ll be taking on the most challenging day-hike of our lives in California: the highest peak in the contiguous United States, Mount Whitney. It’s a 23-mile round-trip hike in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range ascending over 6,000 feet of elevation gain to the 14,505 foot peak.
As we approach this final official challenge of 23 for Mikey, we are now joining Mikey’s team with a more transcendent goal than our own: to help the paralysis community at large under Mikey’s vision and leadership. The “baton is being passed” to bigger and better things, as our 23rd fundraising quest is actually now the first big one for the Mike Nichols Foundation.
This relay to improve the lives of those with spinal cord injuries can only be done together, and that’s why we’re hoping that you’ll be a part of our efforts in 2025. Reach out to us or Mikey if you’d like to dedicate your own adventure to help raise awareness and funds for the Mike Nichols Foundation!
